I downloaded the 5% sample of the 1930 census and need to use the nhgisjoin variable to link to other GIS data. I downloaded the data with the nhgisjoin field but all of the values come up as 0. How do I fix this? Thanks!
It looks there was an error in the metadata for the NHGISJOIN variable and we are fixing it now. In fact, the error was for all samples between 1850 and 1930!
