Hi there, I am working with the variable LANGUAGE in the ACS 1YR 2016 file. Subsetting for California, I’ve found 26 cases with the language code 62. This code does not appear to be documented in the codebook. Do you have any advice on what may be happening here? Thank you in advance for your help!
Thank you for pointing out to us that a label for LANGUAGE=62 is missing from the codes list. Using LANGUAGED, however, you can see that these individuals have a language spoken at home of “Other Afro-Asiatic languages”. We will work on updating the codes list to include a label for LANGUAGE=62.
