Are annual migration rates calculated from IPUMS CPS ASEC representative at the state-year level?

I am interested in in-migration and out-migration rates to/from each state at annual frequency. If I summarize the migrate1 variable in ASEC by state*year, what weight do I use? And is the statistics then representative for the state*year? I know the CSP is desgined to be representative at national level, and state-level too for unemployment, but not sure for migration rates. Thx!

Yes, CPS data is intended to be representative at both the national and state levels. WTSUPP is the appropriate weight for ASEC variables. More information about weights and when to use them can be found here.
