Do the city codes assigned to city names in the 1910, 1920, and 1930 USA files link to other geo codes ?
If you are attempting to link CITY codes to geocodes found in a shapefile, we are not aware of any crosswalks between IPUMS CITY codes and geocodes for the 1910, 1920, or 1930 censuses.
If you are attempting to link CITY codes to the official Census Bureau Place codes, our CITY code values differ from the Place codes, and I am unaware of a crosswalk between the two sets of codes. Further, the names used in the CITY variable do not perfectly align with the names used in the Census’ list of place names. If you are able to find a geocode file that links to city names from 1910-1930, you would need to account for these name discrepancies in order to link with IPUMS data (e.g. by using fuzzy string matching).
