For the IPUMS 1999 and 2009 census, is there an exact mapping available for the yrschl variable?

The original survey question asked about the highest grade of schooling completed. Is there a detailed mapping of how the highest grade of schooling was transformed into the yrschl variable in the census data?

Since the data are made available via IPUMS International as they are provided by the national statistical agency in Vietnam, I'm not able to provide a detailed mapping. However, we do have several source variables for education attainment (VN1999A_GRADE and VN2009A_EDATTAIN) as well as harmonized education attainment variables (EDATTAIN and EDUCVN), that may be helpful to you.
