How was WKSWORK1 constructed from the original CPS data? From the 1st and 8th interview?

All ASEC respondents age 15 or older who worked in the previous year reported how many weeks they worked in that year (WKSWORK1). Prior to 1990, members of the armed forces were also excluded from this variable. The IPUMS variable WKSWORK1 corresponds directly to the original CPS variable WKSWORK. The respondent’s month in sample (MISH) did not affect whether or not the WKSWORK information was collected.

Hope this helps.
