Question

I would like to select cases in the monthly cps based on eligibility for the earner study

Being able to do so would dramatically reduce the size of the data I need to read into memory. However, ELIGORG does not appear among the available variables I can use to select cases. The coding has not changed over the years so I am puzzled.

At the present time the Select Cases tool only supports a limited number of variables. Unfortunately, ELIGORG is not one of these variables. As you point out, this would be a helpful feature. I'll send a note to the IPUMS CPS team and ask them to add this functionality to the ELIGORG variable.

Update: I just chatted with the IPUMS CPS Team and this should be no problem to add. This feature should be available by sometime next week.
