Identifying unique id of a household in China 2000?

I am using the data sample of China 2000,I want to know if I create a variable X which concatenates 'CN2000A_DWNUM' and 'CN2000A_HHNUM', does X mean a unique id of a household?

For example,'CN2000A_DWNUM'='1','CN2000A_HHNUM'='1',X='11'.

Thanks.

Yes, you are correct. However, there is a pre-made within-sample unique household ID variable (SERIAL) that performs the same task and is available for the China 2000 sample file.
