If the availability of a variable show that it appears only in "ASEC", what does it mean?

Does it mean that the family type variable only availabe yearly not monthly? Thanks much!!!!

The ASEC is the Annual Social and Economic supplement to the Current Population Survey (CPS). The ASEC supplement includes additional questions that are not available in the basic monthly CPS questionnaire. The FTYPE variable, however, is available in both basic monthly CPS and ASEC samples from 1984 through the most recent monthly sample released on IPUMS-CPS.
