Names for GB samples

Hi there,

I'm hoping to link individuals across various years for the newly released 1851-1911 censuses of Great Britain. The data are for a project looking at the long-run consequences of emigration during Irish Famine.

I was wondering, are NAMEFRST and NAMELAST available upon request or application, as in the case of the US censuses? If so, where may I apply for access?

Thanks!

Ross

The NAMEFRST and NAMELAST variables are only available in Great Britain samples in 1851. The availability of these variables is largely determined by our agreements with data providers. So, unfortunately there isn't a way to gain access to names for other Great Britain samples.
