Should PERWT be used to calculate representative totals when creating household-level data from IPUMS-I microdata?

Can someone confirm that PERWT should be used to calculate representative totals for:

a. total population
b. educational attainment categories
c. employment (unemployment, female employment)
d. occupation type?
