Variables for weighting IPUMS international samples

Hi Katie,

Early this year you answered a question about pseudo-strata for IPUMS international. I’m working with some samples that need weighting (e.g. Colombia 2005). Is it ok just to use wtper as a probability weight or should I wait for the release of this variables?

The pseudo-strata for IPUMS-International are expected to be released by the end of October, if not sooner. It is ultimately up to the researcher to decide what is appropriate for their analysis, but generally speaking, WTPER should produce accurate statistics.
