WTFINL missing for march 2008-2016

I downloaded the monthly cps data for 1962 to 2016. I am trying to aggregate the data to state level but the wtfinl weight is missing for the month of march during 2008 and 2016 for over 1 million observations. Does anyone know how to fix this or what I might be doing wrong?

From looking into your most recent IPUMS CPS data extract, It looks like you have included the ASEC samples in years 2008 - 2016. (These samples are actually by default selected in IPUMS CPS.) WTFINL is the sampling weight for the basic monthly samples, and therefore does not exist for the ASEC samples. If you revise and resubmit your extract without these ASEC samples, WTFINL should be non-missing for all observations.
