My study is based on India and I am looking at samples from 1983 up to 2009. I have found wage data for 1983-2004 samples but there does not seem to be any wage variable in the 2009 IPUMS sample. Why is this so? How do I obtain it?
The IPUMS International project is only able to provide data as given to us by the various national statistical agencies. In the case of the India 2009 sample, it looks like data on wages were not provided to us. It may be worthwhile reaching out directly to the Indian Ministry of Statistics to inquire about the availability of this data.
