It looks like this is an error, thanks for notifying us! The error should be fixed with the next IPUMS CPS data release roughly scheduled for the beginning of September.

Oh thank you. And both cpsid and cpsidp are 0s. Both of them have to be corrected. Actually I think you need to check all variables in December 1983 to make sure nothing is wrong. They may not be 0s, but they may still be wrong. Thank you for the mug cup offer!
