The tax fields (CTCCRD, ACTCCRD, ADJGINC, EITCCRED, FEDTAX, etc.) are all unavailable from the 2016 ASEC.
Is this because this information was never collected/imputed by Census?
Or because it exists but hasn’t been updated yet?

A number of variables indicating noncash benefits and after-tax values are temporarily withheld from the 2016 ASEC public use file until reports on alternative income and poverty measurements are published. The Census Bureau re-released the 2016 ASEC file with these origionally withheld variables on October 13th. IPUMS-CPS expects to release the corresponding update within the next 3 weeks.
