geographic information in IPUMS USA

Hi,

I'm just wondering if IPUMS USA provides geographic information at the ZIP code level. I saw that you have a variable for County, but is that the lowest available geographic identification?

Thanks!

For reasons relating to anonymity, the US Census Bureau does not provide geographic information at the zip code level. The smallest geographic identifier in modern samples is the PUMA ("Public Use Microdata Area") variable. Samples from the years 1790-1940 have no geography restrictions, but are often limited to the information that was available in each census. Additionally, the NHGIS site has Census summary tables available at the zip-code level for many years.
