I downloaded the ConsPUMA, but the numbering for the PUMA’s doesn’t line up with the other PUMA files. I looked at another file I found online to help align ConsPUMA data with 2000 PUMA boundaries. I still can’t figure out how the numbers correspond to each other so I’m unable to find the areas that make up New York City.
You may have already looked at this page, but it does have helpful resources for you. In particular, there is this spreadsheet that shows which PUMAs and County Groups are associated with each CONSPUMA for each sample. Additionally, if you use the maps of the 2000 PUMA boundaries (available here), you should be able to identify the specific CONSPUMAs of interest for your project.
